About the Opportunity
CNC is looking for a full-time Associate Dean, for our School of Health Sciences and Human Services, based in our Prince George, B.C. campus.
Reporting to the Dean, you will oversee high-enrolment programs delivered at both the Prince George campus and CNC’s regional campuses, while supporting faculty, operational staff, and students, and ensuring high-quality program delivery and alignment with the College’s strategic and academic goals.
You will also collaborate closely with the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and other community and clinical partners to support program delivery and maintain strong external relationships, while advancing the mission and vision of the College.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing daily operations and faculty performance within assigned programs
- Leading recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and professional development of faculty and operational staff
- Supporting program and curriculum development, academic scheduling, and workload planning
- Analyzing enrolment trends and using data to inform strategic planning and program sustainability
- Ensuring academic quality through program review, assessment, and compliance with institutional and accreditation standards
- Advising and resolving student issues, appeals, and academic conduct matters
- Supporting an inclusive, Indigenized, and student-centered learning environment
- Leading initiatives aligned with CNC’s Strategic, Academic, Indigenous, International, and SEM Plans
- Collaborating with Student Affairs and other departments to enhance student experience and success
- Monitoring budgets and ensuring fiscal accountability for assigned programs
- Liaising with regulatory bodies and representing the Dean as needed
- Participating in college-wide leadership, policy development, and strategic planning initiatives
About You
To qualify, you will need an undergraduate degree in a field of study related to the School, a master's degree in a relevant field, and a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience, along with at least 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience.
A background in Nursing is strongly preferred due to the size and regulatory complexity of the program, though candidates with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and relevant leadership experience will also be considered.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience in educational leadership within the post-secondary sector
- Understanding of adult learning models and the role of community colleges
- Familiarity with inclusive, Indigenized, and internationalized educational practices
- Proven ability to lead strategic planning and implement long-range academic initiatives
- Ability to analyze enrolment trends and apply data to planning and decision-making
- Experience managing the full employee life cycle
- Willingness and ability to travel monthly to regional campuses (excluding winter months) to support distributed program delivery
